Why join AIESEC?

\
AIESEC is the international platform that enables young people to explore and develop their potential .

Present in over 100 countries, and over 1800 universities with over 50000 members. AIESEC offers unparallel leadership development experiences to its’ members and creates a network of global change agents that have positive impact on society.

Why you should join AIESEC is because of the three key opportunities it offers you -

1. International Internships

International internships are the most intense
learning experience we offer. Each year we
provide over 5,500 members the life-changing
opportunity to live and work in a foreign country in
the areas of management, technology, education
and development.

Currently there are dozens of Sri Lankan University students on AIESEC internships abroad - Two examples from USJP is Sashreeka (In Singapore - working as an Accounting executive) and Shyamalee (In Pakistan - working as a coperate HR trainer)

2. Leadership Experiences

In AIESEC we focus on developing skill sets that
are needed by the world's future leaders: entrepreneurial, culturally sensitive, socially responsible and active learners. You can go from being a small team leader to a President of an AIESEC committee in a university to be the president of AIESEC International. In AIESEC your leadership potential is unlimited!!!

Keshavi Puswewala joined AIESEC in USJP only last year (2008) - She became a team leader of the the Education project team, then was promoted as the vice president projects and now is elected as the vice president out going exchange for whole of AIESEC Sri Lanka!!!

Sanduni Samarasekera
Exchange Development Manager- Incoming Exchange (Corporate),
AIESEC in University of Sri Jayewardenapura, Sri Lanka.
E-mail- sanduni@aiesec.org.lk

Yvonne completed her internship experience at Amba Research Lanka for two months. Credits should go to Aravinda Karunarathna (CEED for AIESEC in Japura) and Sanduni Samarasekara (Account manager for Amba Research Lanka from AIESEC) for raising and coordinating the internship.

Mihiraka, Aravinda, Sanduni and Shanaka - The Incoming exchange-coperate team
who raised AMBA Research Lanka as an exchange partner of AIESEC in J'pura.

Nuwan, Chamila and Dimuthu joined in for the airport pick up of Yvonne. She got 1 week of home stay from Sanduni. (A homestay is keeping a student at a local home - giving her a truly Sri Lankan experience). She had warm welcome from all of AIESEC Sri Lanka bcz she was the 50th Exchange for year 2009.

She said she has never ever seen the ocean before coming to Sri Lanka. And the other cool thing about Yvonne is that since she has been an AIESEC member in China - she knows quite a lot abt AIESEC. We learnt a great deal by talking to her. It feels so sad when any intern is leaving back home bcz they become one of our family members during the stay. Im sure Sanduni will be the most saddest 2mrw. Come and see!!!
